Key to this is understanding what the market demands for local manufacturers in terms of capabilities, capacity, price and performance standards. The KZNCTC actively works with local retailers to understand demand opportunities and assess the feasibility of localisation.
Over the past 5 years, we have supported over 140 SMEs to develop and pitch their business plans to leading retailers, creating multiple commercial opportunities for these small firms as well as providing necessary capacity building to support their scale up.
