Our vision is clear: from retail to raw materials, a growing, globally competitive, sustainable CTFL value chain.
The KZNCTC strives to achieve world-class value chain standards and foster socio-economic transformation for all our member firms through collaboration, knowledge exchange, skills development, benchmarking, and the continuous improvement of individual firms while critically linking high-potential black-owned SMEs to market access and commercial opportunities.
With the South African economy exposed to intense international competition, it is critical that local firms seek out innovative ways of upgrading their competitiveness. One way of doing so is through clustering, which recognises that there are certain support activities that can be better performed in collaboration with other firms confronting similar challenges. Clusters are pools of economic energy; they stimulate new ideas and support the strength of individual companies. Even in a global economy, local and regional clusters are noted to be the most effective forms of mobilising and sharing knowledge.
The KwaZulu-Natal Clothing and Textile Cluster (KZNCTC) is a not-for-profit initiative jointly established by industry and the public sector in 2005 to improve the competitiveness of the clothing, textile, footwear, and leather manufacturing industry in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
The KZNCTC is an industry-driven initiative, drawing on the leadership and expertise of individuals from a broad range of member firms in eThekwini. The cluster comprises of members throughout the value chain, primarily clothing and textile manufacturers but also major retailers that are committed to supporting the development of the local manufacturing industry.
Our Members & Partners
The KZNCTC is an inclusive cluster with members from across the value chain. Our membership ranges from large publicly listed retailers to large, medium and small clothing manufacturers, textile and trim manufacturers. Membership is voluntary, with all firms committed to our shared vision- building a vibrant, expanding, globally competitive KZN clothing, textiles, footwear and leather industry.
