KZN CTC membership consists of a range of both small and large companies from across the spectrum of the value chain. Approximately 10 000 people are directly employed within our manufacturing member companies which span from spinning to garment assembly, with many more employed in the sectors linked to manufacturing.
Become a member
We welcome membership enquiries from clothing and textile manufacturing companies, cut, make and trim manufacturer’s (CMT) and clothing retailers with operations in KwaZulu-Natal, as well as local non-clothing manufacturing companies that can identify with and are aligned with the objectives of the KZN CTC.
The KZN CTC includes fee-paying core members who receive the full benefits of the cluster programmes. The cluster also has over 300 associated members representing manufacturers, government and supporting institutions. These members receive industry related information, research findings and newsletters. The cluster therefore plays a key role in the development of the industry as a whole.
How to maximise benefit
We recommend that firms consider the following for maximum benefit from KZN CTC membership:
Strategic alignment: Review KZN CTC strategic focus areas and identify threads which are common to the firm’s own strategic priorities
Operational alignment: Review KZN CTC plans for the period ahead and identify key activities of potential benefits
Participation: Allocate an internal champion for each identified area to ensure that the interface between the firm and the KZN CTC is effective and that the firm is positioned to obtain maximum benefit from all relevant activities.
New opportunities: The KZN CTC responds to member’s needs. Communicating company-level problems and challenges to facilitators therefore plays an important role in shaping what the KZN CTC does and what additional future benefit the firms derive from their membership.
