Executive Committee responsibilities
The KZN CTC’s executive committee is responsible for effectively and transparently managing the cluster, and guiding the implementation of the business plan for the focus programmes, namely, World Class Manufacturing, Value Chain Alignment as well as the CTCIP.
As a registered not-for-profit company (NPC) the cluster needs to fulfill administrative, project management, financial and legal compliance management functions. We are audited annually, hold an AGM and prepare an annual report.
The committee holds quarterly meetings which provide overall governance to the cluster and report on the progress made against the business plans. Bank fees are an on-going cost of the financial transactions made monthly. It is worth noting that executive members are not remunerated.
The introduction of the CTP funding at a national level illustrates the potential the cluster has to secure and leverage funding which benefits the broader industry – the committee works hard to support this kind of strategic engagement.
