Cape Town Innovation Session

10 September 2018

Best practice tours provides manufacturers with a unique opportunity to learn from other production environments and offer insight into improvement opportunities within their factories. We continued with our best practice learnings with a tour to the Cape Clothing and Textile Cluster.

The tour was hosted by :

K-Way (an outdoor gear manufacturer)

K-Way’s continuous improvement journey of more than ten years has produced benefits in various areas including a reduced absenteeism rate of less than 3% in 2017.

ACA Threads (a sewing thread manufacturer)

ACA Threads has used statistical process control for the last 15 years to manage product quality and to reduce rework rates.

Transport from the Cape Town International Airport to these firms provided.

The KZN CTC will not cover flights and any accommodation needs.
The provided transport will leave the Cape Town international airport at 09h00 and will return at 17h30.

This tour focused on developing a continuous improvement culture and quality management through statistical process control.
